Parking Meter Rates Will Go Up Again.

The City of New York is expecting to reap an extra $12.9 million from charges at parking meters staring next July. As part of the City of New York Fiscal Year 2021 budget, an increase in parking meter rates for the following year was included.

In the Fiscal Year 2021 which began on July 1, 2020, the City is expecting to derive $251,078,000 in income from parking meters. Next year in Fiscal Year 2022, the expected income from parking meters will go up to $263,987,000 representing a $12.9 million increase.

The new rates for specific meters have not yet been released. The new rates will likely take effect on July 1, 2021.
