NYPD Faces $1M in Department Damage

According to the NYPD, 303 department vehicles have been vandalized since May 25, the day George Floyd was murdered, causing nearly $1 million in damage.

On Monday, the department said that a total of 14 cars were wrecked due to fires, half have returned to service, the other seven are still being repaired.

On Sunday, two men were caught on screen spraying graffiti at one police van and bashing the window of another with a protest sign.

The first few nights of protesting, the city was tarnished by theft, violence and unrest inflicted by looters.
