NYPD Establishes Task Force Targeting Pickpockets in the City

The NYPD has established a taskforce that will target pickpockets across the five boroughs. 

The task force is comprised of thirteen NYPD officers, and will focus on thieves and pickpockets who steal New Yorker’s property—criminals who stoop as low as to target women, children, and the elderly. 

"Wanted flyers, Crime Stoppers flyers, anything that they have on these people whether it be vehicles and stuff like that and then we place alerts, so we know when they're coming into the city, we know where they are,” one officer in the task force told News 12.
