New York City's 24/7 speed cameras, which have been in service since August 1, 2022, have netted nearly 3 million violations in five months, providing the City with almost $100 million.

But that is not all. According to the New York City Comptroller's Office, another $66.5 million, including late penalties, court-determined reductions, and interest, is still outstanding.

The majority of the tickets were dished out in Queens and Brooklyn. Queens came out ahead with 1,079,642 violations, while Brooklyn was issued  949,004 violations.

The 2,000 speed cameras on duty 24/7 throughout all five boroughs deliver tickets that cost drivers fifty dollars each. According to Pix11, the DOT reported a 25% decrease in speeding overall since the cameras were put into full-time use.
