NYC Shootings Up 176 Percent Since Last Year
Last week, the number of New York City shootings were at a total of 47, up 176 percent compared to the same period of time one year ago, police sources say.
This figure includes fourteen citywide murders, last year there were only 5 during that time.
On Sunday, across the city, there were 15 shooting with 18 victims, compared to only two with two victims on the same day last year, police said.
On Saturday, there were six shooting with six victims, compared to the same day last year where there were only two incidents with four victims.
Friday had eight shootings with ten victims, last year the number was five with five.
The violence has continued into early Monday with three shootings taking place within a two-hour window.
