NYC's Cooling Centers Open as Temperatures Soar

Given the National Weather Service's heat advisory, which began today at 11 a.m. and extends through 8 p.m. tomorrow, NYC has opened its cooling centers.
Continued hot and humid conditions are expected with temperatures in the upper-90s throughout New York City.

Cooling centers open in New York City when the heat index is expected to be 95 degrees or higher for two or more consecutive days or if the heat index is expected to be 100 degrees or higher for any amount of time.
