NYC In Violation of Not Protecting Disabled Persons

New York City has been served a violation for not protecting people with disabilities by failing to safeguard blind and poor eyesight pedestrians adequately, a judge ruled Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer said the city had violated three laws by failing to equip most crosswalk signals with aid for the blind or those with impaired vision.

These violations' ramifications have yet to be determined because the first step was only to assess liability.
