Mayor Eric Adams announced a new four billion dollar, five-year tentative contract agreement with the Uniformed Officers Coalition, representing 11 unions.
The agreement includes four police groups, the Detectives Endowment Association, Sergeants Benevolent Association, Lieutenants Benevolent Association, and Captains Endowment Association, as well as fire, sanitation, and correction groups representing 75% of the city's municipal workforce.
Each of the 11 contracts must be negotiated separately for the finalization of details, but all include a 3.25% general wage increase for their first two years, a 3.5% boost in the third and fourth years, and a 4% increase in the fifth years. Individual contract discussion also includes .21 percent to address recruitment and retention issues.
The contracts are effective retroactively, some dating back to 2020.
