NYC Greenway Network Expanding to All Five Boroughs

The expansion of New York City's greenway network by over 40 miles within all five boroughs was announced Thursday, bringing the City's total greenway corridors to 60 miles.
The greenways, funded partly by a $7.25 million federal grant, will enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety, expanding transportation options and green space.
"This historic expansion of our City's greenways in Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island will transform the ways New Yorkers live, work, and get around," Mayor Eric Adams said this morning. "And with more New Yorkers biking than ever, it will connect every corner of our City with this safer, greener mode of transportation."
Brooklyn's new greenway expansion will stretch for twelve miles from Coney Island to Highland Park, connecting to Broadway Junction and giving commuters new, safe cycling access to green spaces within the borough.
