NYC DOT Announces Planned More Closures for BQE Repair Work

By BoroPark24 Staff

New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez has unveiled plans for an upcoming notification campaign ahead of anticipated closures for crucial repair and replacement work on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) in Brooklyn. The scheduled closures will encompass a full shutdown between the Atlantic Avenue entrance ramp and the Manhattan Bridge exit ramp in the Queens-bound direction.

The repair efforts will focus on installing new concrete and reinforcing steel bars at spans along the BQE near Clark Street and Grace Court. These repairs build upon previous successful repair work conducted in October 2023 and April 2024 and are deemed critical to prolonging the structure's lifespan.

These weekend repairs are anticipated to constitute the final planned repairs for the year, underscoring the significance of proactive maintenance to ensure the safety and functionality of this vital transportation artery.
