Standing at the 1st Ave waterfront right outside Boro Park, Mayor Adams and Governor Hochul, in collaboration with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced today that an agreement has been reached to transform the Brooklyn Marine Terminal, into a modern port and community hub.
This announcement comes on the heels of Mayor Adam’s efforts to develop a “Harbor of the Future,” and initiative he announced in his State of the City speech this year, and Governor Hochul’s commitment to bring more economic potential to New York.
“For 20 years, skeptics thought this deal couldn’t get done,” Mayor Adams said, “but our administration prioritized the ‘Harbor of the Future’ and now we have the potential to create thousands of new jobs, generate billions in economic impact, and build a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood and modern maritime port focused on getting trucks off the roads”.
