Nurse Required at Every NYC Public School

To further ensure the safety of reopening NYC schools this fall, Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that every public school will have an on-site nurse during school hours.

He said that having an on-site nurse is very important for the students' safety; they are currently working on finding someone for every school.

"Every single New York City public school building will have a certified nurse. This is very important for people to hear and understand," the mayor said in his daily news conference.

The United Federation of Teachers, the union that represents most NYC teachers, made nurses the top priority in their demands for returning to schools in September.
