New York Death Rate Continues to Drop
Coronavirus related deaths in New York state continues to drop with only two recorded on Monday; however, the total number is at a whopping 25,204.
Cuomo says this reflects the work of New Yorkers and reiterates that precautious guidelines still apply and are crucial for keeping the numbers down.
"Our numbers reflect the work of everyone in this state," Governor Cuomo said. "We are fighting on two fronts to protect our progress: We are fighting against the rise of cases across the nation, and we are fighting against lack of compliance within our own state... I need the local governments and the local police departments to enforce - it's that simple."
The New York State Liquor Authority and Police Task Force continue to observe establishments that do not comply with state requirements. At the same time, the city proceeds with checkpoints for incoming travelers to try and stop the spread of COVID-19.
