New York City Expects Warm, Humid, Tropical Air and Torrential Rain

New York City will feel tropical this week, when a warm front arrives, torrential rain fall later in the day, reported weather enthusiast Yaker Bigeleisen, who added that the meteorologists predict a chance of thunderstorms every day this week.

“The temperatures will warm up to the mid to high 80s, so the air will feel hot and humid for the next few days,” Mr. Biegeleisen said. “We will experience heavy rain, thunderstorms, and some severe, isolated tornados possible in New York City area from 4 to 5pm through tomorrow.”

As the rain continues to descend into the ground this week, the soil will become soaked, and Boro Parkers should take precautions to avoid potential flooding.

To best prevent homes and yards from flooding, residents should speak to someone who works in paving and/or landscaping to determine the sources of the flooding, so that the build-up of water can be stopped ahead of time, Mr. Biegeleisen recommended.

“Experts can divert the flow of water, so that it doesn’t go into the house or build up on the grass, the yard, or the lawn,” Mr. Biegeleisen said. “Due to the large amount of rain we have received in the past week or two, a lot of flooding is possible.”
