New Speed Camera Installed in Boro Park

This morning, crews were seen installing a new speed camera on 58th Street between 11th and 12th Avenue.

This addition comes after several other cameras were recently set up in the neighborhood, including one right nearby at 12th Avenue and 56th Street. While officials claim the cameras are for safety, many residents suspect they’re an easy way for the city to generate revenue.

A recent BoroPark24 poll found that 82.25% of respondents believe the new cameras are purely for revenue, while only 17.75% think they’re meant to improve safety.
