New Jersey Announces Lawsuit to Block New York's Congestion Pricing

On the same day that new toll scanners were installed to bring congestion pricing one step closer, as reported by BoroPark24 here,
New Jersey announced a lawsuit against the Federal Highway Administration to block the new toll hike.
The lawsuit was announced on Friday. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy came out swinging, stating his belief that the feds short-circuited the normal review process before allowing NYC to proceed with the plan.
"Unfortunately, New York's proposal will prompt 'toll shopping,' where more drivers seek different routes in order to avoid paying higher tolls, resulting in more traffic and more pollution," Murphy declared during his formal announcement on Friday of New Jersey's decision to sue the federal government.
Murphy also shared that besides the financial burden congestion pricing will create, it will also negatively impact the environment.
