Monticello - A child who was seriously injured in a car accident Friday morning was transported by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center.

The accident occurred on Route 42 and Anawana Lake Road in Monticello, where two vehicles traveling crashed into each other.

Four people were transported to local hospitals. A medivac was called to transfer the child, who was more seriously injured, to Westchester.

Catskills Hatzolah and the Monticello fire department responded to the scene.
