MTA Hosts Public Meetings on Interborough Express

Getting from Brooklyn to Queens can feel like an unnecessary detour through Manhattan, adding time and frustration to daily commutes. The MTA hopes to change that with the proposed Interborough Express, a 14-mile transit project designed to connect the two boroughs more directly.
Thursday night, the MTA held a public open house in Canarsie to discuss the project, giving residents a chance to ask questions and share feedback. The IBX would run from Bay Ridge to Jackson Heights, linking 17 subway lines, multiple bus routes, and the Long Island Rail Road.
This meeting is part of a series of public discussions happening across both boroughs this spring. The next open house is set for April 22 at Maimonides Medical Center, giving more residents a chance to weigh in on the future of their commute.
