MTA Board Approves Hochul’s Congestion Toll

By Idy Perl
Well, it finally happened.
Last week Governor Hochul proposed a modified congestion toll of $9 instead of the original $15 that was supposed to go into effect in the summer, as reported by BoroPark24.
Today the MTA board voted 12-1 to approve Hochul’s $9 congestion toll. Starting on January 5th, drivers entering Manhattan below 60th Street will pay a $9 toll.
According to Hochul, the money will go towards the MTA and will reduce congestion in Manhattan.
