By BoroPark24 Staff

Mayor Eric Adams has announced that a special election will be held on March 25, 2025, to fill the vacant City Council District 44 seat, previously held by Kalman Yeger.

Yeger's resignation took effect on January 1, 2025, after he won the election for New York State Assembly District 41.

A crowded field of candidates has emerged to succeed Yeger, including State Senator Simcha Felder, Moshe Friedman, and Heshy Tishler. Felder is currently considered the frontrunner in the race.
