Mayor Adams Fights Back Against Vapes Targeting Kids

By Y.M. Lowy
Mayor Eric Adams is taking a stand against the companies selling flavored e-cigarettes that are attracting kids.
A lawsuit has been filed against nine major distributors who are illegally selling flavored e-cigarettes with sweet, fun flavors like pink lemonade and watermelon that are especially appealing to teens. These vapes, which are the most popular among students, are fueling an alarming rise in nicotine addiction.
This lawsuit is part of a larger effort to protect young people from harmful products. Through “Operation Padlock to Protect,” the city has already shut down over 1,370 illegal businesses. Mayor Adams is committed to keeping harmful vapes out of the hands of kids.
