Tuesday morning, content delivery company Fastly, experienced an massive outage, which took many popular apps and sites offline. 

The company services many companies’ websites and apps, ensuring fast load times. In addition, they also serve as a global provider of cloud storage. 

Although the company said it fixed the issue immediately, many sites were still dark by 7 a.m. EST. 

This story is just another one in a string of incidents that illustrate the volatility of centering our lives, and relying upon services, that are located somewhere in cyberspace, and can go dark in an instant.
