Maimonides Extends Visiting Hours

Maimonides Extends Visiting Hours

As of August 7, Maimonides Medical Center has announced a change to their visitation policy.

As society is learning to adapt to the new norm, Maimonides has adapted its Covid visitation policies and was among the first hospitals to extend visiting hours for the benefit of the patients and their families.

As per the updated policy, visitors can now be at the patient’s bedside between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. during the week, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday in order to accommodate the large percentage of Shabbos observing patients.  Visiting remains limited to four hours per day per patient, within these windows of time.

The community is overjoyed at this update, especially those with loved ones currently hospitalized.  Being restricted with visitation is not only hard on the family, but it affects the morale of the patient as well.   The news was very well received by all.

The new policy, although more flexible than before, still ensures the safety of the patients and their families and is within the guidelines of the Department of Health.
