Lost in the Noise: Mayor Adams Recalls Trump’s 'Praise'

By Idy Perl
At a press conference this morning, Mayor Adams was asked by a reporter about his conversation with Trump over the weekend at the UFC fight in MSG.
The usually suave mayor was reduced to a mumbling mess as he tried to spin his conversation with Trump in a positive light and blamed the "lot of noise" for some comments that Trump made.
To quote, Mayor Adams said, “You know, we exchanged pleasantries, and I didn't hear— it was a lot of noise. So I didn’t hear exactly what he was saying. But it was something to the tune of that, you know, you are one of the greatest mayors the city has ever had."
"You know, the city has turned around under your leadership. You know, so I didn't get it all. The lip sync missed that part. What was it? The lip reader. Right. I think they missed a part of, you know, how he talked about, you know, how I brought back the economy, brought back jobs. The bond rate is ninety-eight thousand nine, nine thousand guns off our streets. Improve education, high speed broadband for NYCHA residents. You know, so I didn't get it all.”
