Law Banning Robocalls is Upheld by The Supreme Court

There are a lot of things Americans disagree on, especially these days, one thing most of us can unite on is our distaste for robocalls. On Monday, the law against these calls, around for almost 30 years, has been upheld even though many deem it unconstitutional by violating the first amendment.

To fix the constitutional issue, Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh stated that the exception to the law, allowing calls to people who owe the government money, must be eliminated.

The government agrees on the ban however many political consultants do not and believe it to be unconstitutional.

Neil Gorsuch, an Associate Justice, believes that the law should be repealed and all political operatives and debt collectors should be allowed to call freely because "Somehow, in the name of vindicating the First Amendment, our remedial course today leads to the unlikely result that not a single person will be allowed to speak more freely and, instead, more speech will be banned.” He is the only justice to disagree with the decision.

Kavanaugh also believes this is what the people want "If you just take a peek, just a peek, at the real world here, this is one of the more popular laws on the books, because people don't like cellphone robocalls," he says
