Exciting news has been announced by Satmar in Boro Park: Motzei Shabbos, Parshas Shemos, a grand Chanukas HaBayis celebration will be held for the magnificent new Beis Rochel Satmar Building. This stunning structure, built over the past year at an impressive pace to expand the boundaries of holiness, is located at the corner of 14th Avenue and 62nd Street.
Only a year ago, the site was an empty lot where the cornerstone was laid under the leadership of the Satmar Rebbe, shlit”a. In just 11 months, construction progressed rapidly, and now the building stands tall, a testament to the growth of Satmar in Boro Park.
The seven-story structure spans 100,000 square feet and includes 60 classrooms along with a massive 10,000-square-foot auditorium, which will serve as a lunchroom for the thousands of students.
As preparations continue for the Chanukas HaBayis, the Satmar community is also anticipating an uplifting Shabbos in Boro Park. The Satmar Rebbe, shlit”a, will spend Shabbos Parshas Shemos with the community, celebrating the Sheva Brachas of a grandchild. The Chanukas HaBayis will take place on Motzei Shabbos, combined with a Sheva Brachas celebration for Satmar community members in the brand-new auditorium.
