Israel Allows Entry of Foreign and New Students
After barring the re-entry of all foreign talmidim and talmidos in December 2020, Israel is now allowing them to return, the Chaim V’Chessed organization announced last Wednesday.
Israel has also now approved the return of married students accompanied by unvaccinated children, Yeshiva World News reported.
In addition, for the first time in a year, Israel is allowing the entry of new students into its borders.
To be readmitted into Israel, students must show valid visas, documentation that they were either previously vaccinated in Israel or that they have recovered from COVID-19.
Although students who take antibody tests in Israel-approved laboratories may be allowed to enter, students who were not infected with COVID, have not yet been vaccinated, or cannot provide Israeli certificates of recovery or vaccination will be required to quarantine upon entering the country.
The happy announcement comes after the ceaseless efforts of Rabbi Nechemia Malinowitz of the Igud of Yeshivas and Seminaries, which is helping to obtain permits for yeshivah bochurim and seminary students.
Students who need permits to return to Israel should contact their institutions, which will, in turn, submit students’ information to the Igud.
