Hochul Blasted By New Yorkers For Done-Deaf Tweet Following Subway Homicide

Governor Hochul is in hot water once again with a very ill-timed post that leaves us to wonder if her PR team is already off for the holidays.
At around 3:40pm on Sunday Governor Hochul posted some photos with members of the National Guard and NYPD officers on the subway, with the caption:
“In March, I took action to make our subways safer for the millions of people who take the trains each day. Since deploying the @NationalGuard to support @NYPDnews and @MTA safety efforts and adding cameras to all subway cars, crime is going down, and ridership is going up.”
Hochul’s tweet came mere hours after a sleeping subway passenger was killed by a deranged suspect who lit her on fire and then sat down to watch as she burned to death. In addition, a man was injured on Saturday during a stabbing incident on a Queens train.
Hochul was immediately blasted by New Yorkers and politicians for her done-deaf post and inaccurate statement. This horrific burning incident brings the total number of subway homicides in 2024 to 10, a troubling and frightening number.
Later on Sunday afternoon the NYPD arrested the suspect, and surprise surprise, it’s an illegal migrant from Guatemala. Governor Hochul tweeted about his arrest and thanked the NYPD for their swift response, but for New Yorkers who worry about their safety on the subway every day, it’s too late too late.
