Hochul Announces Plan To Put Police Officers On Overnight Trains

So apparently Governor Hochul can come up with some decent ideas every now and then.
Hochul unveiled her new subway safety plan as part of her 2025 State of The State Agenda. In response to the recent horrific attacks on the subway that have left potential MTA customers wary, Hochul announced that she wants to put police officers on every overnight train in NYC for the next six months.
“I want to see uniformed police on the platforms, but more importantly, we will put an officer on every single train, overnight – 9pm to 5am – over the next six months and the state will support these efforts financially,” Hochul said in her statement.
This comes on the heels of Mayor Adams’ announcement last week that the NYPD plans to put 200 additional officers on the subway system.
Time will tell if this will help decrease crime on the subway system and give New Yorkers a better sense of security.
