Flu season in New York is slowing down, but it’s been one of the toughest in years. The 2024-25 season has been labeled a high-severity flu season, the first in seven years. This year’s flu strains have spread faster and caused more severe symptoms than usual. “Flu season is unpredictable,” said epidemiologist Stephen Morse.
Despite the benefits of the flu shot, only 27% of New Yorkers got vaccinated. While cases are going down, this flu season shows how important it is to take the shot.
