Hatzolah Implements New Policies To Protect Privacy Of Callers

By Idy Perl
The local Hatzolah implemented new radio communication policies to protect the privacy of callers, as well as to share information in a quicker and more efficient manner.
Going forward, Hatzolah dispatchers will not share exact addresses over the radio but will instead provide the exact details only to the responding units. This is to ensure that the privacy of all those who are dealing with a medical or psychological emergency is protected.
The only exceptions for this policy will be for life-threatening situations, on Shabbos or Yom Tov, if a member requests it over the air, if giving the address isn’t enough information to locate the patient (for example if they’re in a car or on the street), or if the text message system that the members use to receive further details regarding calls malfunctions, sources told BoroPark24
These changes are a testament to the ongoing efforts of Hatzolah to treat every patient with the utmost respect and dignity.
