Green Infrastructure Park Completed in Boro Park

By Y.M. Lowy

As previously reported by BoroPark24, the major construction project at I.S. 223 Montauk Public School on 42nd Street in Boro Park has now been completed, unveiling a new park that’s not only designed for recreation but also incorporates green infrastructure.

The new park includes a running track surrounding a sports field with bleachers for spectators, as well as basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts for students to enjoy a variety of sports. However, the standout feature of this project is its focus on sustainability.

In addition to the amenities, the park is designed with green infrastructure elements to manage stormwater and reduce environmental impact. These features help control runoff, improve water quality, and support local ecosystems, all while providing a space for physical activity and relaxation.

The newly completed park at I.S. 223 is sure to become a hub of activity in Boro Park.
