Gov. Cuomo, Shows Himself to be A Hypocrite, as He Decides to Host His Family, After All

Despite the fact that for the past two weeks, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has warned New Yorkers about the dangers of that COVID-19 can spread in people’s own homes: a phenomenon he calls “living room spread.”

In fact, the governor has said that the more New Yorkers host family gatherings in which they “sit at the table” together, the more the COVID will increase, the governor said yesterday that he may host his 89-year-old mother, Matilda for Thanksgiving.

“My personal advice is you don’t have family gatherings: even for Thanksgiving,” the governor said last week on a conference call with reporters.

Gov. Cuomo also explained his mother and sisters desperately wanted to spend the American holiday with him, but he had told them sometimes love means refusing to see people because of the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I ha[d] a conversation with my mother about Thanksgiving.” Gov. Cuomo said. “’[She said,] We have to get together for Thanksgiving.’ [I said,] Mom, we can’t get together for Thanksgiving.

Although, last night on WAMC radio, Gov. Cuomo seems to have changed his plans.

“The story is my mom is going to come up and two of my girls [Michaela, 22, and, Cara, 25],” announced the governor, who added that his Cara’s twin, Mariah, had called him crying about having to stay in Chicago, where COVID positivity rates are very high, and not travel to New York for Thanksgiving.

Gov. later posted on Twitter that although it was hard that Mariah would not be joining the family, “he couldn’t think of a better gesture of love than to say, ‘I’m making the tough choice to keep you and our family safe.”
