Gov. Cuomo Announces School Closures for Remainder of Year, Summer School Decision to Come

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Friday that all schools will remain closed for the remainder of the academic school year due to fear of further spreading the deadly Coronavirus.
"Given the current situation, K-12 schools and college facilities will remain closed for the rest of the academic year and will continue to provide distance learning," the Governor tweeted. "This is the best course of action to keep students, educators and staff safe."
During the daily briefing, the Governor said that the closure includes all schools. "There will be no opening of any school in the state," and a decision on summer schools will come by end of May.
