Gateway Tunnel Project Receives Funding

By Idy Perl
Back in November, ground was broken for a new Amtrak tunnel that will connect NY and NJ under the Hudson River, as reported here.
Today, a signing ceremony was held at the work site to finalize the funding for this massive project.
New York and New Jersey governors pledged to together pay for half of the project, and the other half will be funded by the federal government.
The project is estimated to take a decade to complete and will cost approximately $17 billion cost.
