Frank Seddio Stepping Down as leader of Brooklyn Dems

Brooklyn – Frank Seddio, who controlled local politics for the better part of a decade with his heavy Brooklyn accent and moderate swag, will step down as chairman of the borough’s Democratic Party this week, according to reports.
The Brooklyn Paper posted Sunday afternoon that Seddio will be ending his eight-year reign atop Brooklyn’s food fight on Wednesday, though it said it was unclear the reason why.
Seddio’s legacy will be his battles to avoid primaries for local elections, such as getting in Eric Adams as borough president. He was also a strong defender of Simcha Felder when state Democrats attacked him for his conservative bent.
The battle to replace Seddio has already begun, with much speculation that Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte of Flatbush, who chairs the party’s Committee on Finance, will emerge victorious. She has a close relationship with the Orthodox community.
Brooklyn Democratic party chapter, with more than 1 million registered members, is one of the largest in the United States.
