Former Assemblyman Dov Hikind Mocks Gov. Cuomo’s Book on Leadership
By Yehudit Garmaise
Gov. Andrew Cuomo just released his book, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic,” on which radio talk show host Dov Hikind has made a spoof entitled, “Lessons in Leadership” by King Covidius Cuomo.
“How did the tyrant king manage to preside over the most COVID deaths of any state in our nation?” asks Hikind, who served as a New York State Assemblyman representing Brooklyn's Assembly district 48 from January 1983 until December 2018. “Leadership! Of course!”
“Wow, what an amazing leader,” Hikind faux-marvels as he lies on his couch reading his book in a video he posted on Twitter. “You know, it takes incredible leadership: real leadership to send corona patients to nursing homes.”
Flipping through a mock book with blank pages, with pages, Hikind pretends to turn to another chapter entitled, “Blaming others for your failures.”
“Wow, that is Machiavellian,” Hikind said, referring to Niccolò Machiavelli, a political leader from the Italian Renaissance political philosopher, who defined ruthless, atheist, immoral, and cynical leadership in his famous book, “The Prince.” “Perfect I love it. You’re the prince, you’re the king. Oh yeah.”
“When all else fails,” Hikind says, as he mocks Gov. Cuomo’s advice, “’Blame the Jews, yes, the Jews. They are responsible.’ Yeah: that is great. Let me write that down. That is an important one.”
“Boy, what a book. As I was turning the pages, Wow, so many lessons of leadership, King Cuomo.
“Everyone who cares about leadership: You’ve got to go out and get this book immediately.
“Easy read. Guaranteed. I finished the book in no time, and so can you. This book is available now for $19.99, and all proceeds go to fighting anti-Semitism, perfect gift for Chanukah and all the upcoming holidays.”
