Expansion of Noise Camera Program Under Consideration by NYC Council

by Mindy Cohn
The New York City Council is considering expanding the noise camera program, as reported by BP24 - here.
In 2022, the City began a pilot program in Manhattan after receiving thousands of noise complaints, which were called in to 311. The pilot placed noise cameras at several locations to target car and truck noise and fine the drivers whose vehicles were too loud.
A debate on a package of bills, including expanding the noise camera program, will take place later this month.
