End of an Era: Covid-19 State of Emergency Officially Lifted, Major Changes go into Effect
With Governor Cuomo’s ending of the Covid-19 State of Emergency, New Yorkers will experience major changes in their daily lives.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority, which runs the subways and buses in New York City, has announced that masks will no longer be required in outdoor spaces under its control.
Although the State of Emergency has been lifted, life will not entirely return to a pre-pandemic state. Masks will still be required on indoor platforms, and inside the buses and trains.
Other accommodations relating to loosening the licensing for liquor sales are being discontinued, given this step toward emerging from the pandemic.
