Early Voting Ends, Final Polls Are In

By Idy Perl
Early voting has officially come to a close for the 2024 elections.
A total of 1,089,328 early ballots were cast in NYC this early voting season, rivaling numbers from 2020. Brooklyn came in first, with 345,840 ballots cast.
The national polls have continued fluctuating over the last few days, with several surprising numbers coming out of swing states. Although the betting market has Trump leading at 57% with Harris at 42%, the latest FiveThirtyEIght poll shows Harris leading by a 1.1% margin.
Famed pollster Ann Seltzer surprised pundits over the weekend with a poll that showed Harris leading in Iowa by three points. Although Republicans claimed the poll was inaccurate and skewed towards the Democrats, since all other Iowa polls have Trump ahead by a good margin, it’s a good indicator of how close some swing states might get on election day.
