Drought Watch Lifted In NYC

Well, it seems we’ve come to the end of an era.
Mayor Adams announced on Friday that New York City is officially not under a drought watch anymore. Cue the cheers.
The drought watch, which has been in effect since November 2nd, was now lifted after November and December saw above-average levels of precipitation in areas that feed the city’s water supply, effectively ending the need for water conservation.
“By working together and heeding officials’ advice, we were able to avoid a much more serious drought emergency,” Adams said. “The work of New Yorkers in conserving water these past two months has paid off, and now we can end this historic drought.”
