DOT Adds Turn Lanes on Fort Hamilton and McDonald Ave

DOT Adds Turn Lanes on Fort Hamilton and McDonald Ave

As Boro Parkers exit the Prospect Expressway at Exit 5 onto Fort Hamilton Parkway, drivers will notice, that as they pass McDonald Avenue, the DOT has replaced the parking lanes on either side of Fort Hamilton Parkway with both right and left-turn lanes, leaving the middle lane to continue straight.

In addition, Fort Hamilton Parkway now features a two-way bike lane to the left of the new left-turn lane.

To continue to provide parking spots, the DOT has moved the previous parking spots that were on both sides of Fort Hamilton Parkway further down to the middle of the street, where cars can continue to drive on Fort Hamilton in one lane only.

Also, drivers on McDonald Avenue going to Fort Hamilton Parkway, will see that instead of two straight lanes, there’s now one straight lane and a new right turn lane.
