DOJ Drops Federal Charges Against NYC Mayor Eric Adams

The Justice Department has moved to dismiss all federal charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove directed the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York to drop the case, which included bribery and wire fraud charges. Adams, who was indicted in September, had pleaded not guilty.

Sources say concerns over the fairness of the investigation played a role in the decision, along with Adams’ efforts to address the city’s migrant crisis. The dismissal is without prejudice, leaving the possibility of future legal action open.
