Dee Voch Offers Pesach Edition, More Than 800 pages of Entertainment for the Whole Family

After weeks of arduous Pesach preparation, this year, the time to catch up on reading over Yom Tov starts early, as Yidden have the whole day to relax after finishing early seudas on Shabbos.

L’kevod three-day Yom Tov, Dee Voch tripled its usual weekly page count to create a mega-Pesach edition that is packed with more than 800 pages of creative articles, interesting interviews, and fascinating photographs.

“We expanded our three titles: Dee Voch, Shrift, and Kindershrift, to add a lot of content,” said one Dee Voch editor, who added that the popular magazine made special efforts to ensure that everyone in the family, at every age, will have a lot to read over Pesach.

In addition, for the third Yom Tov in a row, Dee Voch readers will receive a book of photos taken by Moshe Yarmish, a photographer who, since he was a bochur, has been taking iconic pictures of a wide variety gedolim and rebbes: from the Steipler Gaon to the Chazon Ish to the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

In addition to Dee Voch’s beloved photos, an extra-large edition of Shrift provides interesting and original columns, features, and interviews.

For instance, Heshy Rubinstein, whose parents are both Holocaust survivors and who is well-known in New York, Florida, and Israel for having conducted interviews with more than 600 Holocaust survivors, tells, in an exclusive interview, the astonishing story of Reb Binyamin Zev Greenwald, who was blessed not only to survive Auschwitz, but to have miraculously survived the gas chambers, and was then zocheh to build a beautiful Jewish family in Boro Park after the war.

Another great read includes an inspiring interview with askan-extraordinaire and businessman Shloma Werdiger, who is always advocating for and giving to K’lal Yisroel.

In addition, a Dee Voch writer sits down with street photographer Avi Kaye, who is known on Instagram as hasidiminusa, to discuss his longtime passion for capturing the beauty and meaning of Chassidic life in Jewish neighborhoods with his camera.

Also spotlighted is Isroel Meir Gabbei, who has worked tirelessly to find and rebuild kivrei tzaddikim all over the world: not only in Europe, but in Iran, Syria, Iraq.

“Reb Gabbei built up the ohel and the matzeiva of the Baal Shem Tov,” a Dee Voch editor explained, “and he helped to rebuild the keverim of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov and the Bardichiver Rebbe, Rav Levi Yitzchok.”

Other fun feature in Dee Voch’s Pesach mega-issue is a pictorial tour of the bottling process in a Kedem grape juice factory and an interview with one of the company’s owners, who also owns Herzog wines.

Music lovers can enjoy the answers that 20 beloved musicians and singers provided as they reflected on the past season, remembered what songs they sang the most in the past year, and shared what they most like to sing during sefira.

Another interesting project one writer took on was to describe the indignities, disrespect, and realities he, unfortunately, experienced after wearing the dress and taking on the routine of a meshulach in Boro Park.

“After going to four minyanim, our writer only collected $30, which really shows what someone who really needs the funds has to go through to collect what he needs,” a Dee Voch editor said.

The mega-Pesach edition’s cover article, also, not to be missed, is the Skverer Rebbe's discussion of many Pesach minhagim.

Children, who, of course, need plenty of fun and special activities throughout Yom Tov, can enjoy Dee Voch’s expanded Pesach edition that contains age-appropriate articles, games, comics, and very original drawing games, a Dee Voch editor explained.

As part of their Pesach preparations, readers can pick up Dee Voch in kosher grocery stores all over Brooklyn, Williamsburg, and Monroe, and can subscribe for delivery year-round at DeeVoch.com or by calling (718) 305-5863, Ext. 2. Prices vary by ZIP code.
