De Blasio May Push Off NYC Indoor Dining Until There is a COVID-19 Vaccine

New York City indoor dining will most likely not return before the previously scheduled date of June 1, 2021.

Mayor Bill de Blasio sounded very unoptimistic when he said indoor dining is a "huge step forward" and would need a vaccine to return.

"We do expect a vaccine in the spring that will allow us to get more back to normal, but I will absolutely tell you, we're going to keep looking for that situation where we can push down the virus enough where we would have more ability to address indoor dining," he said.

This statement comes after de Blasio announced that the cities COVID-19 infection rate is at 0.59 percent, one of the lowest its been since March.
