Cuomo to Make Decision This Week on Schools, Suggests They Will Open

New York - Gov. Andrew Cuomo will decide this week whether schools in New York state will reopen in the fall but suggested in a conference call Saturday that they will open to some extent.
Cuomo, whose state has one of the worst coronavirus outbreaks before it petered out three months ago, spoke to reporters the day after a deadline passed for school districts to submit proposals how to reopen safely. The governor said he will reach a decision by this week.
"Schools should plan on reopening," he said. But they will likely have to alternate which students attend on which days and require distancing.
