Cuomo Tells Trump to Keep Federal Law Out of New York

In a press conference on Wednesday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he has spoken to the president on Tuesday about sending federal agents to New York City to stop increasing crime.
Crime has spiked tremendously in NYC since the coronavirus lockdown and President Trump wanted to send federal law enforcement to handle the situation but Cuomo discouraged him from doing so and said state law enforcement will deal with the problem on their own.
“We have no need at this time for assistance from the federal government,” Cuomo said, “the situation should be in the hands of the state to the extent anything can be done.”
