Cuomo Announces Record COVID-19 Numbers

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced record COVID-19 statistics.

Thursday, 98,880 COVID-19 tests were reported in New York State, a new high.

Hospitalizations dropped to under 500, to 490, the lowest it’s been since March 16.

The number of ICU patients dropped to 119, the lowest it’s been since March 15.

The rate of positive tests returned is under one percent for the 14th consecutive day.

No deaths were reported Thursday.

"We've been reopening for 14 weeks, and our infection rate has actually gone down” Cuomo said.  ”This proofs positive that when you have the virus under control, more testing does not equal more positives. But my message to New Yorkers remains the same: this is not over. We have to be smart, wear a mask, socially distance, and be New York Tough!"

On Thursday, the State Liquor Authority and State Police Task Force visited 1,618 establishments in NYC and Long Island, 11 establishments were not compliant with state requirements, and they were shut down.
