Councilman Yeger Negotiates Playground Reopening

Boropark24 reported earlier this week about the shuttering of the playground on 14th Avenue, in the courtyard of P.S. 164 Caesar Rodney, due to “lack of maintenance by the public.”
This came precisely in the days of Yom Tov, when families flock to the playground on the long afternoons.
Today, we learn that thanks to the intervention of Councilman Kalman Yeger—who contacted directly the NYC Schools Chancellor—the park will remain open to local families until dusk.
"The playground is supposed to be open every day after school hours, and all day on weekends. The public school's administrators had no authority to close the playground,” Councilman Yeger told Boropark24. I appreciate the efforts of City Hall and the Chancellor's office to restore the playground to our community,”
