Construction At Sullivan Airport Takes Off

Modern updates are coming soon to the Sullivan County International Airport.
Governor Hochul announced the construction has begun on the project to transform the airport into a state-of-the-art facility, which she granted $18.5 million of the Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization Competition.
The new 15,000-square-foot terminal will feature natural lighting, an all-electric HVAC system, an extended restaurant and bar area with an outdoor dining area, a pilot’s lounge and other amenities. In addition, the focal point of the new terminal will be a 2-story glass wall that will offer passengers a gorgeous view of the runways against the backdrop of the Catskills mountains. The new airport will enhance the traveling experience for both locals and new tourists to the Catskills Region.
“Airports are the front doors to our Upstate communities and vital economic engines for the region,” Governor Hochul said. “This project will provide the Catskills with the state-of-the-art airport it deserves and greet thousands of visitors per year as they explore the region.”
